Field Visits
Some of our fantastic partners are hosting exclusive field trips on Friday, October 11th. Explore the options below and secure your spot by following the registration details. Please note, these trips are independently organized by each partner. The field trips are free of charge.
Solar Panda Field Visit to Emali
Date: Friday, October 11
Schedule: Start time 8.00am, end time around 6.00pm.
Meeting Location: Solar Panda House, 746 Muchai Drive. We request that the participants arrive at least 15min before the scheduled departure time.
Duration: 2hr drive to Emali, that is about 126km, and additional shorter distances (up to 10km) to customer homes
Activities: We will visit one of our retail outlets in Emali town. Participants will get an opportunity to interact with our field sales teams, that is the Field Agents and Field Sales Managers. We will thereafter visit a few customers and hopefully also get to witness a sale in progress.
Food and Drink Options: We will provide enough water and light snacks for the trip (peanuts, cashew nuts, packet juices, energy bars, cookies) Any preferences can also be communicated in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate these where possible. It is important to note that there will be no tea or lunch breaks as we cannot vouch for the quality of food in any of the restaurants along the way.
What to Bring: Participants should carry their own sunscreen, hats/caps and warm clothing. We also recommend closed comfortable shoes.
Logistics: We will provide transportation (van) from Solar Panda House to the field site and back.
Capacity: Maximum number of participants is 7.

SureChill Field Visit to Kiriita
Date: Friday, October 11
Schedule: Start time 8.00am, end time 1pm.
Meeting Location: KICC
Duration: 5 hours
Activities: Visit a dairy farmer and milking cooperative to understand the end to end dairy value chain. See the impact the SureChill fridge is having on farming communities first hand.
Refreshments: Drinks will be available, cooled by the SureChill fridge
What to Bring: Sensible shoes and casual clothing suitable for field work.
Logistics: We will arrange transport from a central pickup point

SureChill Field Visit to Kibera and Lang'ata
Date: Friday, October 11
Schedule: Start time 9.00am, end time 12pm.
Meeting Location: KICC
Duration: 3 hours
Activities: Visit shopkeepers with different energy contexts that are benefiting from SureChill cooling. One shopkeeper is based off-grid and the other is in a weak grid setting which is based in the biggest slum in Africa. This field trip offers a unique opportunity to witness how SureChill's innovative cooling solutions are addressing energy challenges in diverse urban settings.
