Leo has spent the last ten years leading a wide variety of activities for the World Bank Groups Lighting Africa/Global programs. He currently leads client services for IFC's Lighting Global and advises the World Bank on integrating off-grid market development into broader energy access activities. He was one of the first to focus exclusively on pico/SHS plug and play in the late nineties and has spent over fourteen years working in nearly twenty countries across Africa. Leo began by establishing local pico-solar assembly enterprises as founder of the non-profit Sunshine Solutions. He then founded and managed the social enterprise Solapak (assembling, installing and servicing pico-solar products and SHS across East Africa) before leaving to join the World Bank Group.
