Subrata Barman leads IFC Energy program in the Pacific that promotes access and adoption of renewables in off-grid and on-grid markets. He has been with IFC for the past 10 years and has led the design and implementation of numerous projects with the private sector, especially in the areas of energy, water & electronic waste. He was an Expert Member of the team that formulated the National Voluntary Guidelines for Responsible Business in India, Member of the International Solid Waste Association and has contributed in sector development committees led by industry associations CII & FICCI. Prior to joining IFC, Subrata worked with the management consulting practice of KPMG and PwC, where he was responsible for managing projects in the infrastructure and energy sectors. Subrata is a petroleum engineer from ISM Dhanbad and a post graduate in business management from IIM Ahmedabad.
