Ron Margalit has built a multi-disciplinary career as an innovation catalyst that is focused on social investments in emerging markets. As Lumos is building the world’s first distributed utility using disruptive technologies and innovative business model, he leads the company’s impact and blended financing efforts with a specific goal to crowd-in commercial and private sector investments. Ron is a veteran principal investor and advisor. Before Lumos, he founded and managed a boutique NYC-based investment firm that invest exclusively in technology-led companies that addresses gaps in the delivery of primary products and services in Sub-Saharan Africa. His work on financing access to energy had received awards and recognitions from the Financial Times, World Bank, UK Department For International Development and Secretary of State John Kerry among others. Ron was educated at Harvard Business School, and focused on strategy in emerging markets. He earned his MBA from Georgetown University and his bachelor’s degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is a mentor to women owned SME in Africa and South East Asia.
