Kat is Associate Director of Impact & Lean Data at Acumen, and formerly the Director of Research & Impact at SolarAid. Kat leads the impact work of Acumen’s energy portfolio through Lean Data – setting up the sector’s first social impact performance benchmarks. Previously, Kat developed and managed the award-winning research and impact work at SolarAid – rehomed at Acumen. Combined, this work is the most comprehensive database of the impact of energy access on end-users. Kat is also managing multiple large-scale research projects, looking into the impacts of solar lights on poverty alleviation, household air pollution, and educational outcomes, with research partners, and is building links with others to enhance learning and ultimately effectiveness for the off-grid sector. She also Chaired the GOGLA Impact Working Group from its inception in 2013 until late 2017, leading the development of the GOGLA standardised Impact Metrics for the off-grid sector. Kat was recognised as a Young Leader in Renewable Energy by Recharge, and was finalist for the Red magazine Women of the Year award for her work.
